The making of Elementary!

In the beginning, long before kings, queens, before black & white and their armies, there existed One and only One for all. Then, the One gave rise to the 4 ancient elements: Air, Fire, Earth and Water. The four elements were given great powers - they were pure, simple, timeless!

First came Air, light and swift, followed by Earth, heavier and denser. Air and Earth, the "primordial" elements were neutral, so calm reigned over creation.

Then came the two active elements, Fire and Water, restless and far from neutral. Fire could only exist in presence of Air, and Water could only live around Earth. There would be no more than two parts Fire per Air, and two parts Water per Earth.

Fire and Water were in constant flux (motion) and had opposite virtues: one is hot, corrosive and light, the other cold, heavy and fluid. Forever they sought to destroy each other.

The Elements, truly alive, have a mind of their own: from that energy the magical game of "Elementary" was born. Surprisingly very small and nimble with only 19 spaces, yet incredibly full of possibilities inside!

You could certainly write books about this game…
